Parkey

Parkey was an app I worked on for a Startup Weekend in Toronto, based on the idea of creating something like AirBnB for parking spots in the city.

etools

Etools is a web app to automate some of the reporting done at #engagementlabs. It sped up reporting tasks by 45x.

This was accomplished with custom python scripts that made API calls to various websites (Imgur, Flickr, Twitter).

It runs from my Raspberry Pi web server, configured to use Nginx and uWSGI—you can access it here:

Le Petit Artiste

Le Petit Artiste was an app designed specifically for the Varley Art Gallery in Markham, Ontario which aimed to create an interactive, engaging experience for visitors aged 8 to 14 within the featured exhibit, Les Plasticiens.

I worked as a UI/UX designer and animator on the project. To view my group's process from start to finish, please visit our documentation site.

Brezicki.com is a website for Canadian author Colin Brezicki that I finished this year. I also produced the video content.

His style of writing—"I try to write under the radar, so readers won’t be aware of it"—required a similar design approach.

My work had to be simple and understated so his work could show through.

Bachmann-Druck.com

Last summer, the German printing company Bachmann-Druck (Bachmann Press) needed a new website.

It was a challenge to document the company's history while also portraying it as forward-thinking and technologically capable.

Together with Pascal Bachmann, I brought Bachmann-Druck's story out of its archives and onto the internet.

Flash/Humidoro

Flash (working name Humidoro) is a command line application that boosts productivity.

It combines the Pomodoro technique—work broken into 25 minute intervals, separated by 5 minute breaks—with visual feedback from wireless lightbulbs made by Philips (Hue).

The lights are set to a more brilliant white for the 25 minute work period, flash to signal when 1/2 and 4/5 of the time has elapsed, and change to a relaxed orange during breaks.

Very much a work in progress, you can fork it on Git.

Kludge is an app I'm designing to reinvigorate Media Literacy education for students aged 10 to 13 by encouraging satirical remixes—'kludges'—of the media in their environment.

It's still very early in the project, but I have begun working on a one-page teaser website

Sip Up

Sip Up is a short promotional video for a musician named Slugabed.

This particular song featured a sample of Biggie Smalls, so I pulled an existing Biggie video into a program called Isadora and arranged for the album's artwork to replace groups of pixels while its size was influenced by the beat.
